The painting process is a passionate exploration into the beauty of God's creation. I am especially inspired by the nature of light to illuminate color and form, thereby creating a variety of emotional experiences: the quiet stillness of the setting sun, the refreshing movement of a rushing stream or the romantic glow of candlelight. Thus, painting becomes a joyful struggle, a vigorous battle in the attempt to capture this often-fleeting experience.
Once completed, my work stands outside of time as an opportunity to enjoy what has long since passed. In our time of hectic schedules, these works offer the viewer an occasion to pause and reflect upon the often unnoticed beauty of our world. For me, this gives rise to praise, as I become aware of God's genius reflected in His creation:
"The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands." (Psalm 19:1)
